I use Pintrest a lot. I find it handy for just about any project I'm even slightly thinking about working on. Having a lot of hobbies and interests I sometimes find it difficult to organize or even just remember the different things I want to try or learn about. I have a pin board for just about everything. It would take me forever to get through all of them but, I want to start sharing some of the project that I try out. Some are successful. Some... Not so much. Either way, it always Pintresting to find out! ;) If you wanna check out my pins feel free to follow me on PINTREST: Victoria Herrea Here's one Pintresting item I did for Thanksgiving. James Beach

Image
We went to James Beach in Venice Beach over the weekend. Very Cool place. The food was Amaze-balls, the music was fun, and the vibe was super chill. We planned on just meeting up friends for drinks at a bar and decided to have some food once we know they have a full late night menu still available. Sooooooo.... we got a table and started off with the Mykonos Plate with  kalamata olive tapenade, hummus, tzatziki salad , and pita bread. BOM.COM. We decided to share our plate of Beef brisket and Gravy Tacos and its a good thing we did. It was HUGE. They made it super easy for us by splitting it onto two plates and serving the awesome flour tortillas on the side. It was a fun and delicious eating experience. We go seated right in front of the dance floor area near the bar so it was even more fun being a spectator before getting up and busting a move ourselves. The music was late 80's early 90's pop type music that was fun. The good kind; the kind you don't hear too

Close To My Heart- Greeting Cards with Have a Happy Day/Everyday Life

Image
Super Duper EXCITED to share my first cards with Close to my Heart products. I recently became  a creative consultant with them and as stated previously, I'm Super Excited!! :)  Starting out as a consultant they put together a package with some of their products. They have GRRR-8 stuff. Stamp sets, ink pads, patterned paper, etc etc. Everything you would need to get started with scrapbooking or card making for the holidays and special occasions. You can check everything out on my Close to My Heart Site .  When I first started scrapbooking at 13, this was how I got hooked. I went to a scrapbooking event where my sisters friends and co-workers got together to scrapbook. She thought I would be interested so she brought me along. HOOKED, immediately. I loved it. The idea of using awesome art supplies and spending time preserving memories with cool ladies was a blast.  My next venture was card making, that's when my obsession with rubber stamps started. I made some Christmas c

Retro Sketches Challenge #129: Happy Birthday

Image
I've been sharing a lot of my fitness posts and I haven't had the chance to share some crafty stuff. :) So, today I'm sharing with you a card that I made for Retro Sketches challenge #129 . This is the sketch I had to follow...  Here is what I did.... This is the inside... I used a kraft colored card stock base with the honeycomb yellow paper as the background. I then used a grey polka dot patterned paper on top with a small flag of the honeycomb patterned paper with the Happy Birthday sentiment heat embossed with grape scented embossing powder . Yup. I said grape scented embossing powder. Cool, hu? I thought so. I then added the small flag with the cloud pattern on it and a wooden daisy on top. the bike on the bottom is a Martha Stewart sticker . Sooooooo cute. On the side I just added a small sentiment, "may all your dreams come true". Inside I kept it pretty simple with the sentiment, "go forth and party. HAPPY BIRTHDAY&quo

Zumba Time!!

Image
My favorite work out days are the days I can add ZUMBA to my routine. Usually Wednesday and Thursday, but I do try to squeeze in a class on Monday as well. I have been doing Zumba from day 1 of my fitness journey about 4 years ago. At that time I was a member of Total Woman. I loved all of the classes they offered especially Zumba and kickboxing. ... Man, I really miss that Kick boxing class. Anyhow, I was hesitant about taking the class because I am not a very coordinated person. I like to dance and i'm decent at it but my coordination is horrible. I didn't want to mess any one up. :/ But I took the chance. Not something I do often but, I'm trying. After taking that first initial class I fell in LOVE. The music, the dance moves, the ladies. you can be at any fitness level and truly benefit and enjoy the class. The music is a mix of Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Punta, Bachata, Samba, Reggae, Hip Hop, & Pop. The music selection varies depending on the instructor you get. T

Morning Leg Session

Image
Working out this morning felt great. It always seems as though I have more energy and strength in the morning. I decided to work on LEGS to benefit from the superhuman power I felt being awake early at the gym!! Woooow!  tiny note: I added links to videos for each exercise. just click in order to see the exercise demonstrated (not by me though). I started with Squats on the Smith Machine . I added one 45lb plate on each side with an additional 10lb plate on each side and proceeded to do 4 sets of 13 reps. (12 reps + 1 for good luck 😉) tiny note: I like to keep my reps between 12 to 16 reps depending in the exercise. If you can do more than that you should probably be doing more weight because you're not challenging yourself enough.  Following that I got on the Angled Leg Press Machine and put two 45 lb plates on each side and did 16 reps for 4 sets. That was a tough one, had to really push through. Then I went along a  dead-lifted an 80 lb straight bar , did

You Better, WORK.

Got the chance to go to do Zumba today after work. Got to class a little late so I got stuck in the back but it doesn't even matter. It's such a great class. Lisa Marie's classes always are. Highly recommend any class you can take instructed by her. Click on the link to check out her Facebook page.  After that kick butt Zumba workout. One of my gym buddies, Liz and I got a good arm workout focusing primarily on triceps. Spent a good 45 minutes there and then ended the night with a cardio work out with Adam at our old high school. Continuous running around the track and some sprinting... We're trying to get faster as well. Baby steps.Baby steps. Feeling good and ready for a small meal to refuel. Real Good Evening.  P.S These things down here are the BOMB. If you see them. Try them. Fo Real.

LUNCH TIME @ Healthy CA

Image
I'm trying to venture out with healthy food choices. In doing so, a good idea would be to get into the routine of packing enough food for the day, this way you won't be tempted to eat bad. Plus you save money. Today I didn't get a chance to pack my lunch ( BAD GIRL ). I decide to try a place that my boss suggested called Healthy CA in North Hollywood. Awesome place. I loved it. Super good food. Fresh and healthy choices. I decided to go with the Olympia salad and added grilled chicken. The Olympia salad is their take in a Greek Salad. It has giant chucks of cucumber tomatoes, mixed greens, bell peppers, olives, and feta cheese. I'm totally obsessed with feta cheese right now. Sooooo good. The meal was $9.95 + 2.25 for chicken and the salad came with an option of a side dish. I went with the fruit salad.  Along with my salad I ordered one of their fresh juices. I got the COOLER with cucumber, watermelon, strawberry & raspberry. It was so refr

I'm challenging myself. I'm challenging myself to get as fit as I possibly can these next 2 months. I'm not much of a competitive person but I do like to compete with myself. So, the plan. The plan is to set up a work out schedule one week at a time. I wrote up this weeks. Here are my fitness goals.  Along with my work out goals, I am cutting as much sugar as possible out of my diet. No Candy, No Ice Cream, No Soda. (YIKES!!) I want to cut back on carbs and try consume a high protein diet. It should be fun. I'm excited to do this again and to see how far I get in these next two months. I lost over 60lbs three years ago and I want to challenge myself again. I look forward to sharing as much as possible. This will help keep me accountable and comfortable with the idea of sharing this part of my life. Wish me luck. Let's Do this!!!  -V
