Stay Golden
hello!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.
I'm happy to share a card I made to participate in this weeks Sketch challenge over on the Retro Sketch Challenge Blog.
This is this weeks Sketch.
Here is my take on it...
I used kraft colored cardstock as a base then this really cool vellum birthday paper that I got a couple months back from Party Corner in San Fernando. They have a cute invitation and specialty paper section. It's kind of hard to tell in the picture but the vellum paper has a really neat pearlized finish to it too. The triangle patterned paper is from a 6 x 6 paper pack from the Paper Studio.
I love this paper pack. Sooooo many possibilities. If you likie you can findie at Hobby Lobby.
The Thick Gold Strip is made from glitter ribbon that I've gotten from Michael's in the past. The Thin strip of gold is a really cool self adhesive Gold Shimmer Trim from Close to My Heart. You just peel off the back and Voila! It's ready to stick. So much faster and easier than having to add adhesive like I did to the glitter ribbon. The Gold Pineapple is from the Paper Studio as well; its a gold vinyl sticker from their La Petites line. Super cute. The word "Golden" was stamped with Versa Mark Watermark ink and heat embossed with gold Martha Stewart embossing powder. I stamped the word on a piece of the same vellum that I used in the background. It worked out nicely. I hand wrote the word "Stay" and cut out the little flag for it.
On the Inside I kept it very simple with a "Happy Birthday" Sentiment Rub-on transfer from American Crafts. Their called Mini Marks. Really easy to do and reminds me of being a kid using rub-ons back in the day. I added some of that Shimmer trim below the sentiment and some rhinestones for little bling bling.
I had some paper left over from this project so I decided to make some mini note cards (3.5 x 5) that matches this cards style... kinda. Check'em out.
I used the same shimmer trim and patterned paper added some wooden star cut outs and a shinny piece of black ribbon and the word "yay!" created by my smash label maker. On the inside of the card I used a another rub on with the sentiment "congratulations".
Here I added a little gold paper rosette that I had left over from some Halloween stuff I got at Michael's. I used a rub on with the "happy birthday" sentiment. on the front then stamped the inside with the sentiment "may all your dreams come true" and little black bling here and there.
Hope you guys liked the cards. Got some more stuff to share later. Wish me luck!
