Bunny Theme: Birthday Party Decorations

My adorable niece turned 12 this summer and she really wanted to celebrate with a Bunny themed birthday party. It was difficult at first to find anything that would go with the theme she wanted but we did what we do best and GOT CREATIVE!

We stuck with  pastel colors and poka dots for the most part adding a little bits of bunnies where we could. 


The banner we decided to make was pretty simple with pastel colors and the simple sentiment of Happy Birthday Natalie! We added a Poka dot lantern to the ceiling (We wanted more but, it was the only one we could find at Michael's). We added poka dot pastel balloons and one Mylar Pink heart shaped poka dot balloon to each side. We decorated the clear glass jars with cute ribbon and pom poms. Pom poms are always fun. Then we just labeled them with what was inside. Popcorn, Bunny droppings, bunny tails ...you know, the norm ;) 


 The beautiful cake in the center is made by Karen from Cake Moments. Her cakes always add the most beautiful finishing touch. Such an Adorable Bunny Cake! Plus she made some cupcakes with carrots on them and cookies shaped like carrots. Totally loved all of it. ADORBS.

 To go along with the bunny theme we made our own version of pin the tail on the bunny with a chalk board and simple white card-stock circle cut outs for the bunny tails. We also made a carrot toss game where we had the kids trow the carrot bean bags in to the mouth or belly of the bunny below. Fun to make and play with.
As a delicious and fun desert we decided to make something that resembled a carrot growing out of the ground. It kinda worked. We dipped strawberries in orange melted chocolate that we got from Michael's. We then scooped vanilla/chocolate pudding and crushed Oreo's in to clear cups with the carrot strawberries on top. Super cute and super yummy!


My sister hired a bunny petting zoo to come by so the girls can pet the bunnies. They were so happy and almost didn't want to let them go. The birthday girl is to the right holding on to that bunny oh so tight! :)  

Of course we had to have a pinata... DUH, we just couldn't find a bunny pinata. A colorful cupcake pinata had to do. 
That's the birthday girl, Natalie. Isn't she the cutest!?! 
We all had an awesome time with friends and family. Cant wait to do it all over again for her next year.

Ziplock Bag Greenhouse Effect

Sup ya'll. Last year I was successful in getting some seeds to grow from placing the seeds in a zip lock bag, along with a piece of paper towel, a few drops of water, seeds, and taping them to the window allowing the sunlight to work its magic.  About a month ago, I did the same thing and planted them in some soil. I am enjoying the process of that.  In the meantime, I decided to do it a third time and maybe share the process.  In the zip lock bags I have the following seeds:  Rosemary  Carrot Mint Catnip Spinach Red Cherry Tomato Stevia  Borage  English Tall Lavender German Chamomile  Thyme  Sugar Baby Watermelon Purple Petra Basil I will make an effort to share the process and success rate of these guys as well as the planted ones that are happy in some soil.

Popsicle Stick Photo Frames

I had the best time hanging out with Naya and Noah yesterday making popsicle stick frames.  I just so happen to have my Instax camera on hand so we decide to have a bit of a photo shoot after their lunch. One we were done wainting FOREVER for the pictures to develop ;) we decided to get crafting. We choose the popsicle sticks we wanted to use without exactly having an a true intention of how things would turn out other than making some sort of picture frame. Below is the list of materials we had on hand to use. Materials  Popsicle sticks + Wood Glue + Yarn+ Cardstock Paper + Scissors+ Watercolors/Crayons  We started out with painting and coloring our popsicle sticks.
